It is Beatrix. Whenever I go there, it always has something new to offer. Or if it gets boring (as it sometimes could be), one can always hie off to neighboring Malaysia (more expensive than Singapore) or Indonesia (not as expensive).
Oh, you should! It’s so pretty out there. The pool water wouldn’t be as clean in the afternoons though. It could get crowded also because the hotel allows people not billeted in the hotel to climb up the Skypark for a fee, but only in the cordoned area. But early mornings and late afternoons should be fun, especially non-weekend. It’s a marketplace out there on weekends so privacy (or is it exclusivity) is a bit of an issue.
Great! How are you doing? I’m always the happiest in the summer and we are begining to get beautiful weather every day!
I don’t know if you received one of my responses bc you always get back asap. But in January on a flight from NY I was sitting next to a medical researcher in the fields of Alzheimer and Parkinson’s. He said research is finding the same things that lead/contribute to heart disease and diabetes are huge contributors to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Plus research is finding medals in our diet like copper contribute to both diseases. A large percent is environmental…what do you think?
Hi Lotta, I’m good. Thanks for asking. Where I am there’s just dry and wet season. We’re running into a low of 25C and a high of 36C so it’s pretty hot (not warm) during the day. My nieces, here for the first time from Canada (8 and 5 years old) for holidays and are complaining that ‘this place has only one season – hot, hot , hot’. Kids!
About contributors to dementia, yes I agree, lifestyle, diabetes, obesity, heart disease especially irregular rhythm, previous strokes and elevated cholesterol levels lead to a different form of dementia which we call Vascular Dementia. Alzheimer’s is largely genetic, age related and involves proliferation of abnormal proteins called amyloid. Parkinson’s is genetic and also involves abnormal protein called synuclein. I do not have enough data to implicate ‘copper’ with either of the two diseases although there’s a movement disorder where it is attributed called Wilson’s Disease.
Hello! Yes it is, especially the first time. The next time it kinda loses its novelty. But don’t listen to me. You’ve got to check it out yourself. Cheerios!
Thank you Kathryn. The nice thing about Singapore is that it’s the regional hub of many airlines so it’s so when things get boring you can always fly to neighboring countries – Malaysia, Indonesia, India (my favorite). I wish you’d spend holidays in Asia. Safety, security is hardly an issue in Singapore, in my experience at least.
I have to admit Malaysia is also on my do trade list for the future, it is certainly a paradise to visit. Its a case of me doing my research before going and find the best places to go, though I have heard that Jimmy Choo fashion is very popular in Malaysia and from what I have seen too.
Ciccio, for the record, you were not in this post. You were sandwiched somewhere in the many comments on this post, ha ha ha.
Yup, see you guys. Take care.
Oh no, not at all. There’s a barrier at the edge of the infinity pool. I think the illusion of being on the edge of the 57th floor adds to the thrill of dipping in the pool. I had so much fun doing that actually – from one end of the pool to the other, ha ha
My girlfriend lived in Singapore for many years and I plan to go back there with her sometime. A friend of mine went last year and said they had great beaches!
I’d say the beaches are in the neighboring areas like this really nice resort Pulai Desaru in Johor, Malaysia and Kuching at the tip of Malaysia. My experience in Singapore is that of a concrete jungle with tasteful buildings, theme parks and well preserved nature and cultural heritage structures. It’s well known for its marina though as its piers are among the busiest in the world. The food is all caps awesome!
Amazing photos, I didn’t see anything like this in Singapore, I certainly didn’t see that swimming pool, that looks like a great place for a sun downer.
Hi, the Skypark with the infinity pool gives a spectacular view of the skyline and the sunset. At the 57th floor, it is the highlight of the casino-hotel Marina Bay Sands. It sort of connects the three towers. It’s got good enough room accommodation but other hotels there have much better to offer for the price you pay. Just saying.
Awesome photos! Takes me right back to the last visit I made to Singapore – I can remember the smells, the heat, the feel of the place. Thank you for sharing!
